Grillsmith - Lakeland: Experience American Steakhouse Delicacies

First time at Grill Smith and it was a very pleasant experience! We had to wait over 30 minutes to get seated, but once we were in, we found out quickly that it was well with the wait! Kaitlyn was our Server and she did a phenomenal job! No complaints here; both service and food were excellent!

I took my wife there for her Veteran dinner on veterans day. She had been looking forward to going there for weeks. The weather was perfect. It was very busy but we got seating outside. The food was excellent. I am a steak man. But when we go out I usually try and get something my wife wants that she isn't ordering and she got the free steak for her veterans day meal. So I got tuna. That tuna was so good. So many flavors and textures. Needless to say she ate like half of it hahaha. The drinks and service also very prime. I've been to Grill smoth a few times before and if I want a really good dinner I don't have complaints on. Especially a steak. This is the spot. It's worth it.

We met here for a meeting and had a wonderful time! Our server was very attentive and professional, making sure we had everything we needed. Everyone ordered something different, and each dish came out fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The chicken wings were fantastic, one order have 10. The salmon was delicious. They also have a great happy hour from 4–7 daily perfect for relaxing after work or meeting with friends or family. The only thing I would add is celery sticks to the chicken wings plate to bring more color and crunchiness. I do like the celery sticks so I would eat them. Also lemon or lime to the glasses of water and to the sweet teas.

We had a really enjoyable dining experience here. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a relaxed but polished vibe that made it perfect for a sit-down meal. The food overall was solid and thoughtfully prepared. The burgers were well-cooked, juicy, and served on soft, toasted buns. The sides were generous and flavorful — the mashed potatoes were creamy and comforting, and the green beans were well-seasoned with a nice balance of texture and flavor. Fries were crisp and hot, exactly how you want them. One standout was the appetizer presentation — beautifully plated and clearly made with care. You can tell the kitchen pays attention to detail, especially with flavor combinations and how the dishes are finished. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and everything came out in a timely manner. The menu offers a nice mix of familiar comfort food and slightly elevated options, making it easy for everyone to find something they’ll enjoy. Overall, this is a great spot for a casual dinner that still feels a bit special. We’d definitely return and recommend it to anyone looking for good food, a comfortable atmosphere, and reliable service.

Amazing food. The steak was cooked perfectly. The deserts were amazing. The staff was even better.

A Great Valentine’s Day Find at GrillSmith We happened to find GrillSmith while passing through Lakeland on Valentine’s Day, and even without a reservation we were happy to grab two seats at the bar. Our server, Ryan, was fantastic — incredibly helpful with both the signature drinks and the food selections. Ryan made me an excellent Manhattan using real Italian vermouth and Filthy cherries. My wife had a chocolate martini that she loved. The ahi tuna appetizer was a generous portion, served over guacamole, which was a great surprise. For dinner, I went with the pork chop cooked medium‑rare+, and it was spot‑on. They were also offering a Valentine’s Day sea bass special, which my wife ordered. The portion was very generous and the quality was outstanding — I’d highly recommend this special if you ever visit when it’s available. We finished with their Bananas Foster dessert, featuring a warm banana‑caramel pour‑over sauce. It did not disappoint. Overall, the service was great, the ambiance was really nice, and the food was excellent. I would definitely dine at GrillSmith again the next time I’m passing through Lakeland.

The shrimp we shared were plump and delicious, but believe it or not, the sautéed spinach may have stolen the show—perfectly seasoned, vibrant, and packed with flavor in every bite. Drinks were top-notch. I had a smoked Old Fashioned that was smooth, balanced, and perfectly crafted. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with just the right mix of energy and comfort to make for a memorable evening. GrillSmith nailed it on every front—flavor, service, and ambiance. Highly recommended!

Our first waitress was at the end of her shift and anyone could tell. The replacement waitress was amazing. The food was amazing. There is nothing really to complain about. Definitely want to come back and eat the amazing variety of options.
